Review of Justice League (2017) by Aris O — 21 Nov 2017
As a fan of both Man of Steel and Batman V Superman ( Extended Cut ) I was obviously very weary leading into this film when Whedon was announced to be taking over the reigns.
The final result, proves I was right to be worried. Whedon and Snyder are inherently different directors with sharply contrasting styles that simply do not meld well together.
Watching this films, feels like Warner Bros got cold feet in sticking with Snyder's vision and cut about 80% of his final product.
Flaws -.
- Obvious re-shoots and re-writes across the entirety of the film that do not gel with any of the original Snyder material.
- Affleck looks bored.
- Gadot still can't act.
- Momoa and Miller are under utilized (Though Miller, looks like he may get on your nerves if onscreen too much).
- Snyder's grandness is gone and replaced by HYPER saturated "family friendly" confrontations.
- Superman's reshoots are terrible and his existence basically negates the need for the league itself.
