Review of Justice League (2017) by Eliot W — 21 Nov 2017
Having been a comic book fan my whole life, I look forward to all of these movies. When I saw the critics reviews I was disappointed, but for some reason, I didn't quite buy all the negative press. The critics seem to love bashing DC movies and praising Marvel movies. However, for fans this is ridiculous. This was an excellent movie. Great action, humor, and as good character development as the first Avengers movies. I'll take a bit of space to address the main points the critics seem to have had:
CGI - Steppenwolf - Yes, not great, but then again name me a move that is. Was the hulk in Thor Ragnarok incredibly believable? Were the chitari from Avengers terrific? No, they were actually worse than Steppenwolf. While I agree a human actor would have been better, he was fine for the role. Nit pick #1 dismissed.
Batman to somber - total crap. Ben Affleck played the part great. Batman is dark and brooding. If you don't know this, then you are not a fan. When he puts the Justice League together he needs to get over this. Not easy after fighting crime for 20 years alone. Nit pick #2 dismissed.
Sexualizing Wonder Woman - She's an amazon goddess. and, how about those shirtless scenes of Jason Mamoa and a total fight scene with a shirtless Superman. Critics get over yourselves. Nit pick #3 dismissed.
In summary, do yourself a favor and don't listen to the critics who think it is cool to trash DC. This is a great movie that does the characters "justice". Go see it and hope they make a sequel.
