Review of Justice League (2017) by Gabriel Y — 22 Nov 2017
There's no excuse for this movie to be as bad as it is. With a 300 million dollar budget this movie has the worst special effects I've seen in a long time. With amazing characters that we've known and loved for years the characters in this movie are flat and boring.
Which is definitely the largest issue in "Justice League". Superman does the most forced 180 character arch I've ever seen. It feels like we begged and begged for a comic accurate superman and WB and Zack Snyder finally just gave us the laziest response possible.
Batman has the exact same issue except instead of being an asshole, unlikable, and hating superman for no good reason now he's an asshole, unlikable, and likes superman for no good reason. His famous line "If there is even a one percent chance then we must take it as an absolute certainty" is now "if there is even a fraction of a chance we can bring him back then we have to try".
The new characters (Cyborg, Aquaman, and the flash) are all lazily introduced and are as flat as a character can be. Cyborg is brooding and whines about being a monster and then halfway through the movie joins the justice league because.
..... plot. Aquaman is exactly the same. Flash is comic relief and nothing else at all and joins the league because he needs friends. The motivations for every character in this movie range from weak to non-existent.
