Review of Justice League (2017) by Rick T — 19 Nov 2017
Most of the film was fun and enjoyable, but the ending (SPOILER ALERT) where Superman just sweeps in and fixes everything was boring, unsatisfying, and made each of the other characters look inadequate.
Instead of that set up making Superman looking... well like Superman, it made the whole thing unbelievable and stupid. It was clear that the tagline, "You can't save the world alone" really only applies if you are not Superman, because it sure looked like he could do it alone and he made a fool out of all of the others.
It was particularly disappointing that Wonder Woman, who had a personal vendetta against the main villain, was completely outdone by Superman who literally put her in the ground despite the fact that she's a god.
We watch superhero movies to suspend our disbelief, and in order to do that they myths have to be consistent. This movies seemed like it could have been great but it has no soul. The best superhero movies are very human, this was just ridiculous.
