Though the movie has a number of flaws (a one-note villain and overly CGI action), it remains an entertaining diversion thanks to its band of heroes and their fun rapport. Each one gets their moment to shine.
Co-writer Whedon's signature humor is most welcomed and helps liven the proceedings. Despite its bumps, the movie puts the franchise in a stronger direction moving forward.
