This so-so romantic comedy gets two stars - one for Queen Latifah's performance (she's like Tom Hanks... even if you hate the movie, you like her) and one for making interesting visual choices in the direction.
OTOH, Common is weak as an actor, the entire set of parents (Phylicia Rashad, Pam Grier & James Pickens) are given nothing to work with (despite being great actors)... and the script is pedestrian and fails the "if you'd just talk to each other the movie would be over" test.
