What do "mercy", piety, clemency have to do with justice? What does a film focused on a corrupt and unequal justice system to the poor and minorities have to do with the repudiation of the death penalty ("Dead Man Walking", Robbins 1995, and "The Green Mile", Darabont 1999)? If common law or Hollywood still makes such blunders, let the Yankees go to buy Beccaria on Amazon.
