A few moments of good surrounded by a large amount of cliche moments. Also, a very strange tone for the whole movie. (Was it a romantic comedy? Was it a serious exploration of marriage?) Was it a dark comedy? In the end, it was none of these things and that's why it wasn't very good.
I think if they had gone for a more "War of the Roses" feel to the movie, it probably would have been pretty good. They had the ingredients, but they didn't use them to their best effect.
