Review of Just Like Heaven (2005) by Peter A — 22 Feb 2010
Okay, I admit it, I enjoyed this film. Maybe the fact I watched it over Christmas had something to do with it. Maybe I was infused with a dash of benevolence.
The story, about a doctor in a coma that roams about like a ghost and can only be seen by Mark Ruffalo's character, is, of course, total nonsense. Don't ask why, but I sat enraptured. Maybe on a different day and at a different time I would see this speck of foam for what it is. But unlike Ghost, which I panned, this film does not take itself seriously. That is my excuse.
You can only judge what you see and - at the risk of forfeiting any hard-earned credibility, I come clean. Godamn it; I liked it.
