Review of Just Like Heaven (1930) by Mloy X — 14 May 2010
Much the way one would suspend disbelief while watching "Ghost" (because this movie hinges on that as well), the movie was actually quite charming. Witherspoon and Ruffalo had good chemistry (although not passionate enough), but still good and both are very excellent "criers" that they can sell the emotional scenes, no problem.
The last few minutes of the film was an emotional roller coaster and it just tugged at my heartstrings enough (this is why I hate chick-flick-- I dislike being emotionally manipulated); anyhow, that it sold me on the movie.
It was really cute and I'll probably watch it over and over again (begrudgingly like "The Holiday").
