Review of Just Like Heaven (1930) by Adam F — 24 Mar 2014
"Just Like Heaven" is basically your typical romantic comedy with a supernatural twist but there are enough good things to elevate it above "just average". The movie is about a man named David (Mark Ruffalo) who sees the ghost of a sexy Reese Witherspoon (she plays a Dr. Elizabeth) who is haunting his apartment. The two of them don't get along, they argue a lot but their constant bickering makes you think that they might just fall in love by the time the credits roll.
Some flaws of the movie include the fact that the movie is pretty predictable because it follows the same arc as every other fluffy romantic comedy you can find out there, despite the element of the ghost being thrown in there. It's also incredibly irritating to watch a movie where the male lead has never, ever seen any movies in his entire life. How else do you explain the fact that David is constantly talking to an invisible woman and making himself look like he's a crazy person? At least pretend like you.
