Review of Just Go with It (2011) by Nohelia S — 22 Nov 2011
There are people who just can't stand Adam Sandler and others who adore him... I am not in any of those groups and for me this romantic comedy, directed by Dennis Dugan, starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, is just a simple funny re-make of the 1969 film Cactus Flower, which was adapted from an earlier Broadway stage play written by Abe Burrows, which in turn was based upon the French play Fleur de cactus...
It seems that a story of Danny Maccabee (Adam Sandler), a successful plastic surgeon in Los Angeles who feigns unhappy marriages to get women, was more interesting to a non-American audience... I found it really hilarious at moments and credit goes to Jennifer Aniston as Katherine Murphy, Adam Sandler as Danny Maccabee and especially Nick Swardson as Danny's goofball cousin Eddie!
It could be bawdy comedy for randy guys or a smart romance for women about finding the perfect man... whatever way you take it, there is some laughs in it! Sony didn't get the response they expected, but I enjoyed it more than most of the critics worldwide and I am not embarrassed to admit it!
