Review of Just Before Dawn (1981) by Jon W — 25 May 2009
While it starts off well enough, the movie loses pretty much all of its momentum somewhere around 2/3rds of the way through. While never really creepy, there are parts that kinda work in the familiar way that slasher movies can.
But aside from the scene with the heroine stuck in a tree that the killer chops down, the last 3rd is really devoid of much excitement. The way the final killer is offed is interesting, he's choked to death by the main girl shoving her arm down his throat, wacky.
Could have been decent, but the pacing is pretty bad.
