Review of Just Before Dawn (1981) by Devin K — 24 Apr 2006
One of my favorite backwoods terror flicks of all time, JUST BEFORE DAWN even rivals TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE in my opinion. Solid acting, scenic, yet creepy locations, and a pair of inbred hillbilly twins that look like they could have been birthed by giant, man-eating hogs.
Scary stuff...and that creepy whistle playing out during the haunting score is enough to send chills from head to toe. George Kennedy is great as the eccentric forest ranger - "Those mountains can't read, son".
