Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Rieve S — 25 Jun 2018
The worst in the series. Forgoing the franchise sense of humor, wonder, and terror for a complicated, non-sensical plot poorly executed by cartoon villains. Meanwhile the Heroes' only virtue is being able to open doors as required by the advancing plot.
So one dimensional and outright unlikable are they that they don't even appear to have the breadth of skill or wit among the five of them to do the opposite and close a door. Even Pratt is reduced to a cookie cutter action figure whose superpower is appearing in the nick of time to open a door previously closed on a scene that substituted franchise callbacks for suspense.
Remember how raptors can open doors? Don't worry. Chris Pratt does it better.
