Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Tj S — 28 Jun 2018
There is less good to say about this movie than there is good. So let me start with the good. I appreciated the small glimmer of hope we received in this movie with Dr. Malcom and the idea of letting the dinosaurs fall to the volcano eruption (as they should) and the nice (and sad) scene we did get with the dino's falling to the volcanic ash as the protagonists drifted away on the boat.
The only other thing I liked in this movie was the awesome Pachysaurus who deserves an award for being bad ass and hilarious. Now this movie only gets 1 star from me because the writing in these last two Jurassic Park installments has been TERRIBLE.
I feel like in order to enjoy this movie you have to not care about that aspect of the film. Honestly in this movie's case it isn't the actor's fault or the rest of the crew. It simply suffers from bad screen writers.
The story and script for the last two movies makes barely any sense and is lazy. It is unfortunate because I truly loved the series. I went into this one with low expectations due to the first JW movie, but wanted to give it a shot as I had heard there was a new direction for the movie.
Yet the new direction feels all to familiar (Rise of the planet of the apes * cough cough). I'd also like to mention the two dimensional characters that they give us in these movies. They are so plain and there is hardly anything to them.
Also lets throw in the idea of human cloning and only mention it for one scene and then lets drop it. I could go on and on.
