Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Merijn J — 21 Dec 2018
(82/100).
I found myself watching this movie and I was surprised, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is an excellent movie with a pretty great story. I don't get why many people disliked this movie. Yes, it takes some story elements from The Lost World, but it has enough story and stakes to stand on its own. And by the way, the world actually changes in this movie, which it didn't do in all the previous movies. There is some actual risk and consequences to the world and not just one island. The CGI has definitely improved but wobbles a bit, one moment I find myself astonished by the amazing CGI and the other moment I'm kind off disappointed it wasn't better. Michael Giacchino has crafted an amazing score with so much more original music added to the soundtrack but still incorporating that classic theme composed by John Williams. Overall I liked this movie a lot more than Jurassic World and thought it was a great sequel which upped the ante.
