Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Honest-Yan — 09 Jul 2018
This is a remake of the last Jurassic World movie, using the same cast. The unique selling point of this movie is that there is a genetically modified dinosaur, just like the last movie. This GM dinosaur is smaller, so that they can set the climax of the movie in a house.
This makes the movie a re-tread of events in the last move, albeit with a smaller scope and cheaper sets. Chis Pratt has stopped working out as much and looks a bit fatter than in the last movie. There also seems to be this weird phenomenon in which a dinosaur is friends with Chris Pratt and keeps risking its life to protect him.
Why does this dinosaur love Chris Pratt so much? Extensive animal training? No, there is no reason whatsoever, in fact this dinosaur has been left to it's own devices, abandoned since the last movie. There is fun to be had if you leave your brain at the door and enjoy the serviceable CGI.
