Too long, and wastes too much time focusing on filler characters, for a story that did evolve the formula nearly enough to justify another movie. It was just a vehicle to bring back the original characters as jangling keys.

This scrip outright steals action sequences and dialogue from the first film. Referencing is one thing, copy and pasting, well that is JJ Abrams patented, and his lawyers will probably be in touch. The real downfall is with the poor CGI that had to be covered by CGI environmental effects.
