Review of Jurassic World (2015) by David B — 17 May 2016
Call it what you want...but for me, even though this is a sequel of some sorts, it felt like a reboot. Chris Pratt probably the only good thing to come out of this, Pratt proved in "Guardians" that he could handle hunky leading man roles, and his combination of physicality, charisma and attitude prove hard to resist one more time.
Though the plot is a little dull and a tad form of rehash...it was fun in a sense, part mindless two-hour theme park ride, part self-aware sequel where supposedly smart people make a cascade of bad decisions.
The CGI wasn't the best but had it's moments...but I couldn't help that they didn't learn a thing. Again, aside from Pratt, the rest of the cast was boring and somewhat annoying. I did fall asleep to this movie twice before actually watching it the third time.
There is plenty here to divert, but little to leave you enraptored. Such is the fate of the sequel: Bigger. Louder. Fewer teeth. You are not missing much. Though better than the awful Lost World.
