Review of Jurassic World (2015) by Robert L — 12 Jul 2016
The park is open and has never looked better. Colin Trevorrow takes the reigns as director and delivers the best film in the series since the original. This is a film that's full of nostalgia for the first but is still brave enough to break new ground and separate itself as a modern day Jurassic classic.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard take over as the leads and are having a blast. The movie is energetic, scary, funny and full of life, bringing back the joy and wonderment that the original captures so perfectly.
Sure you can never recreate that feeling of seeing a dinosaur on screen for the first time, but this one does a hell of a job of coming close. And all this is helped along by Michael Giacchino's soaring music, bringing back old themes and fusing them with brand new ones that sound like they came straight out of John Williams's mind.
After the disappointment that was "Jurassic Park III", this breathes new life into what many thought was an extinct franchise. A prefect sequel. A great film.
