Review of Jurassic World (2015) by Pixelpiece X — 09 Jan 2018

While it doesn't bring anything new to the Jurassic franchise, it rekindles pretty much everything that made people fall in love with the original Jurassic Park (at least in my opinion). Not a viable path for the next 2 installments, but it certainly brought the audience back to the table after the last 2 "meh" installments.

A huge visual spectacle, it's able to introduce some dinosaurs not previously covered in the other films (ei: Mosasaurus), which could hopefully lead to some different locales in future films.

Some of the ideas presented are decidedly scoff-worthy (turning the raptors into a dog team, and the team up between them and the Indominus Rex), and the next film could probably do with less cheese.

Overall though, it's a fun blockbuster, and people shouldn't expect any more than that, from a franchise that banks on the idea that someone thought it would be a good idea to recreate alpha predators that could weigh up to (or more than) 8 tons, put them in an enclosure, then allow people to come anywhere close to them.
