Review of Jurassic Park III (2001) by Olivier B — 15 Apr 2012
This movie in many ways is superior to the predecessor "The Lost World" but also has equally many flaws. The movie uses some ideas that were touched upon in "The Lost World" and therefore creating a more captivating story but sadly the characters that get Dr.
Alan Grant back to the dinosaurs, as well as their crew are moronic. The Grant character is interesting and is reminiscent of the way he was in the original. The story is ill constructed and is over before the viewer is even aware of its start, it is less menacing and engaging then "The Lost World" but at the same time being rougher.
It enjoys some great scenes that just seem badly patched together. The story mimics the one in "Aliens" in some ways which is annoying and highly implausible. Could have been a great movie had it been more stripped down.
