Review of Jurassic Park III (2001) by Lauren S — 14 Jun 2015
While this film is definitely the weakest in the series, I can't help but find it somewhat of a guilty pleasure. I loved seeing Sam Neill and Laura Dern reprising their roles from the original film, but the overall storyline is simply so weak compared to the first two.
The main issue I have with this film is the creators simple lack of attention to geography. This film takes place on Isla Sorna (Site B), which is the same island that The Lost World takes place on. The difference in this film is that all of a sudden there's all these different breeds of dinosaurs that we never encountered in the second film, even though it supposedly takes place on the same island. I guess I can buy that Ian Malcolm and his gang never searched the entire island, but if the Spinosaurus is so big and bad, you think they would have encountered it. I don't know, I'm probably looking too much into this, but it just annoys me.
