Review of Jurassic Park III (2001) by Emod L — 15 Feb 2014
Another bad Jurassic Park sequel....when will this end?! The film is silly, cartoony and dumb. The script is pretty bad (once again), and there is an overabundance of CGI, plus there's a whole lot of bullshit being spewed out about how intelligent Raptors are (In this one they are even smarter than they were in the first film, JP3 even goes so far as to say that if Dino's weren't wiped out Raptors may have become the dominant species.
...BULLSHIT!). At least this one is fun at times, the deaths are pretty brutal (and occur on screen), and the film actually has a good sense of adventure as well. It's good to see Laura Dern and Sam Neill return, and newcomer Trevor Morgan as Eric is actually pretty good.
The rest of the characters are kind of bland, but are still likable. It's easy to sit through, and it's not really all that painful (heck, the aviary sequence is actually kind of good). I can't really recommend it because once again, it's still not a good film but at least this one didn't make me angry like Lost World did.
