Review of Jupiter Ascending (2015) by Hannah-Grace B — 05 Jul 2015
Evidently many people don't agree with me that Jupiter Ascending is excellent and heartfelt. Critics whine about the characters' unnecessary weirdness and dry wit; their hearts aren't touched by the characters unique flaws, nor unabashed honesty.
Society focuses on immediate attraction rather than embracing the slow burn of love. Let 'em woo, people. Cynics also bad mouth Caine's ears, so seriously think about it and then speak: genetic engineering is complicated! If one gets over the lack of norms in this movie it might be enjoyable.
Most of these critics review the Wachowskis' movies with an ice pick, nick-picking every imperfection and broken social norm. Oh, they also pick on that Jupiter Ascending was an entire bore; no doubt they were playing on their phones, or negatively musing to themselves.
No one gives a damn about immersing oneself in a movie these days. Not to mention that movie watching attention spans have become a rarity. Did any critic actually watch the Chicago mayhem scene while sober? Anti-grav boots and explosions, all wrapped into a near death experience; I'm ready to sign up.
I'd like a J.S. bumper sticker, book series, and a sequel as well please. xooxo.
