Review of Jupiter Ascending (2015) by Carlos G — 22 Aug 2015

This was a very fun sci-fi space flick with an intriguing plot, likable characters, comedy, intense action scenes, romance for the ladies, and some neat world building. I feel that people were a bit too harsh toward it.

Maybe it's the two leads, or maybe it's just hate towards the Wachowskis because it's the "cool" thing do to, or maybe people expected to much from this film. I expect two things from a space epic: 1.

to be invested in the story 2. to have fun. Jupiter Ascending gave me both. Let's be perfectly honest here. Were you really expecting this to be as great as "The Empire Strikes Back"? I expected a fun/campy/neat sci-fi/space adventure flick and Jupiter Ascending delivered just that.

(Note: I give the film 4 stars but I rated it 5 stars to keep the positive reactions going.).
