Review of Juno (2007) by Peter N — 03 Sep 2012
I made sure to see this film after all the hype died down, but I still see it as being extremely overrated. Too much attention is focused on all the wrong places. I don't care if Jason Bateman's character wants to sleep with Juno.
I don't feel like that should have been the point of the film, but they sure tried to make it that way. This film tries to appeal to the emerging hipster generation, but it comes across as bland and mean-spirited.
Despite their slightly off-the-mark performances this time around, Ellen Page and Michael Cera show a certain amount of appeal and talent, indicating a large amount of potential waiting to be unearthed in future films.
