Review of Juno (2007) by Duncan K — 20 Mar 2013
Juno was just plain great. It was cute, warmhearted, and laugh out loud funny. It has it's quirks and I love that but it also had some extremely powerful emotional resonance that really grabs you and pulls you into the characters.
This was mostly because of the great writing by Diablo Cody. The story was interesting and although it might not have been the most original, it sure made up for it with cleverness and some great acting.
the acting was great especially from Ellen page who would go on to gain an Oscar nod for the role. I do love Michael Cera and enjoy him in his movies, but Page really stole the show. Jason Bateman, now he's a given (he was great).
So Juno succeeds at being an emotional drama, a charming dramedy, and a gut busting comedy and still stabilizes to be a great film. Love this movie.
