Review of Juno (2007) by Jennifer L — 09 Sep 2013
All of the acting was great, in fact this movie made me appreciate Jennifer Garner in a whole new way, it was intelligent and to a degree it had some heart (the movie is worth watching simply for the last scene as far as I'm concerned) but I'm sorry, no teenager, no matter how smart, how worldly or hip is going to talk like that (trust me, growing up that's how my friends and I thought we sounded but looking back on it, OUCH).
I know, it's stylized blah blah blah but all I kept thinking throughout the movie was that it was a love-letter from Diablo Cody to herself waxing poetic about her incredible cleverness. I suspect that I would've loved this movie if it had just been written by someone else.
