Review of Jungleground (1995) by Ian C — 24 Apr 2009
John Stanley covered this one in Creature Features (The Science-Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Movie Guide) giving it a fairly positive review and stating that genre fans might be interested due to "stylized gory violence" and its use of THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME theme.
That propmpted me to check the film out. Former wrestler "Rowdy" Roddy Piper had lost the mullett he had in THEY LIVE and HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN. This is probably his best perfomance in an action film.
Torri Higginson plays his artist/ladyfriend and watch for Canucj actor Nicholas Campbell playing a sleazy federal agent. The whole movie was filmed in Vancouver pertending to be a generic big American city with a stylized ghetto area ("Junglground") filled with stylized street thugs.
