Review of Jungle Fever (1994) by Jason C — 29 Jun 2009
As always, there are plenty of interesting scenes and ideas, but this too often feels like two movies combined haphazardly into one. It seems that Spike Lee is almost completely uninterested in his two protagonists, at least apart from initially presenting his thesis on interracial coupling.
Still, Lee is, as usual, one of our great humanistic directors and provokes thought and discussion even as this particular film flies off the handle.
