Review of Jungle Fever (1994) by Jessa . — 10 May 2010
Possibly my favorite Spike Lee film that I've seen, besides of course 'Do The Right Thing'. Stevie Wonder music was awesome, crack den sequence was great, Samuel L Jackson was great, ending was great. Was really long, but I didn't really mind.
As America becomes more post-racial I worry that this movie won't hold up as well over time...as time goes on, is there really going to be such animosity between Italians and blacks? People might think it's over the top. Lee's such a great filmmaker so maybe it won't matter, but that's how I reacted right away (seeing it in 2010).
