For me this film's theme is personal to me. I think Lee does an excellent job at discussing some issues that certainly need to be discussed more. I also think society has made a lot of progress since this film's 1991 release.
Of course, this is from a Southern Californian that has spent the better part of his life in a diverse Los Angeles County.
