Review of Junebug (2005) by Geriana V — 06 Jan 2008
This movie is a thorough character study of a small family. This movie speaks volumes without talking a lot, like most of its characters. My one complaint would be that it seems to be saying that all southerners / country folk are significantly mentally challenged.
The actors' performances are incredible, yet understated and subtle. The characters are so well crafted, you learn that they each have their own different role in the family. Some of the people who come off immediately as simple or wierd turn out to be something quite different underneath.
