The acting blows me away. For a southerner I can vouch for it - those people are so dead on it's scary. Particularly Amy Adams, Ben McKenzie and Celia Weston. On top of that, there's barely a soundtrack, and it amazes me that this film can still draw out powerful emotions without the use of any music.
And finally, I've always been quite a fan of Alessandro Nivola. :).
