Review of Junebug (2005) by Andy S — 09 May 2009
An overall very frustrating film. This is very "indie" in the sense that the director felt it necessary to throw in a whole slew of random shots that did not advance the story . . . and, in fact, drew the audience away from the characters.
The decision to ax the soundtrack (excluding opening and closing credits) was a huge mistake in this film. The only bright spot in a rather frustrating piece of American film making is Amy Adams. She is one of those people that can't help but make you smile.
If you need an Amy Adams kick, however, I'd suggest skipping this film and renting "Enchanted" instead.
