Review of Junebug (2005) by Phillip J — 24 Aug 2009
Though the rural South is my favorite setting for both literature and film, and seeing as many of my favorite films are slow as molasses, I still found Junebug to be painfully amateur in its execution.
The director thinks well of his characters (though he sometimes exploits them) and they come to profound conclusions, but the film had me squirming and wanting to run for the exit for most of its run time.
