Review of Jumping the Broom (2011) by Essence E — 06 May 2011
This was a funny movie with a great cast. Angela Basset was of course amazing as was the divine Loretta Divine. The story was a little trite and therefore too predictable at times. I also think they over simplified the message that love & forgiveness conquers all.
If only that were truly the case then everyone would always live happily ever after and get their fairy tale ending. If only life were like the movies. One thing I did like was how the film showed that you don't just marry your spouse but for better or worse you marry everyone (family)else in their life as well.
That's why I am eloping :) Should I ever meet my Mr. Right ;) I hope this was a breakthrough role for the talented and sexy male lead Laz Alonso.
