Review of Jumper (2008) by Esteban G — 28 Dec 2011
Jumper was the most fun I have had at the theater this year! It has great special effects, a good plot in my opinion despite the fact that most critics hated it, and also good performances from Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson.
I was entertained at the theater. In my opinion the film was made with a lot of plot holes with the idea of continuing the series with a few sequels. Hayden Christensen plays David Rice a jumper; he can teleport from one place to another in an instant which makes the movie all that more interesting with so many varied locations (Egypt, Japan, Italy, USA, Chechenia, France, England, and so on).
The fun ends for him, once David discovers he is not the only one with this talent and that it has existed for centuries. He finds himself caught in a war between the jumpers and a group called paladines.
The paladins only job is to get rid of all the jumpers even if that means hurting their friends and family. The leader of the paladins is Samuel L Jackson whose only puprose in life seems to be getting rid of the jumpers.
Once David realizes his childhood sweetheart (Rachel Bilson) is in danger it is time to stop running and decides to face the paladins. Very entertaining movie thanks to the scenary, the cast, and the visual effeccts.
