Review of Jumper (2008) by Dimity P — 03 Mar 2013
I originally avoided this because the novel it's based on is one of my all-time favourites, and the film looked ridiculously, needlessly different, and it is, but it was also a pretty fun and entertaining take on the concept with terrific, unique action sequences, and Christensen is at least a physically spot-on choice for Davey.
The plot is pretty all-over-the-place and has so many loose ends it pretty much hinges on a sequel which is still just "announced", but it's worth seeing, if only as a flashy, superficial trailer for the very deep, personal, human story of the novel(which doesn't involve high-tech agents who hunt Jumpers or any Jumper other than the lead character, who for all he knows is the first and only one).
