Review of Jumper (2008) by Alex K — 20 Oct 2014
Entertaining, though thoroughly stupid. Interesting concept, fully exploring the superhero concept of teleportation, but is shoddily constructed in just about ever aspect.
First and foremost among the films shortcomings is its pathetic acting. Christensen is a seriously sorry excuse for an actor. However, next to Rachel Bilson, he looks like Robert Redford. I also found Jamie Bell's hilariously fake British accent amusing. Samuel L is out of place and over the top, even for him.
The script is 3rd grade caliber, and the story in general is slow moving and very boring once you get past the 'wow, being able to teleport would be cool' realization. More than a few plot holes and unneeded subplots, seemingly all of which are left unexplained. A dime a dozen teenybopper action movie, that will entertain, but mostly due to its inept nature.
