Review of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) by Omar N — 10 Jan 2018
The movie picked up right where it left off from the 1st film in 1995. The game is magic as Alan Parrish clearly stated in the 1st film which is why it changed. According to the novel it also explains the game changing to fit moderns society.
"Who plays board games anymore?" is a part you will hear in the movie. Not one of the 5 characters did not shine & play their part. Some stood out more than others but everyone played their part.
The film was not focused around one character, the film focused on five characters with Alex (Nick Jonas) character being the missing piece. This is standalone sequel, very entertaining, very fun to watch & I felt like the homage they paid to Robin Williams was just right.
By the end of the movie it is very similar to 1st film, beat the game you go back to when you started just like we saw it the 1st film.
