Review of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) by Dubeau — 28 Dec 2017
Jumanji is a passable movie. It's a mix comedy and action. It plays a lot on the switch body humor, so it's funny at first but it brings nothing new to the genre. I think the younger audience would appreciate it more.
For a movie inside a videogame there is a big lack of videogame references or interfaces. And if you get a couple of principle in place, it doesn't feel like it that much. The action is not always well filmed, it's a bit all over the place at time.
The FX are unequal. The best performances were from Gillian and Black. I give it a 55%.
