Review of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) by Matthew H — 01 Jan 2018

Honestly, I was quite surprised as to how much I enjoyed this film. I think many people will probably ignore this film as the trailers make it seem like a simple action movie cash-grab which simply isn't true. What this movie does well it does fantastically, the comedy, the action and the performances are all fantastic.

There's a real sense that the main actors (The Rock, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas) put a lot of effort into accurately playing the teenagers outside of the Jumanji game they're trapped in. Jack Blacks portrayal of the stereotypical "hot chick" from high school was superb and hilarious.

Overall I was very pleased with this movie and although it isn't the most complex film ever made it is easily one of the most enjoyable and entertaining movies these holidays.

I'm giving it a very enjoyable 7/10.
