Review of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) by Pierre Q — 25 Dec 2017

I saw the original Jumanji as a child and recently again with my teenagers. we all loved it. When I saw the first trailer for "welcome to the jungle" I just couldn't believe it. if I hadn't been in a movie theatre I would have thought it was a joke.

Is this film a sequel to the first movie? No way no how, It's very name is an nsut to the first movies memory and if I had my way I would reedit and delete all mention of the first movie be avoid ant more of this blasphemy.

That said the movie in itself, and with absolutely no connection to the source movie is a lot of fun. I saw it with my teenage kids and first of all its nice family viewing. Not any seriously inappropriate contents, though I really could have done without the whole "I have a penis" line of jokes created by pacing a female teenager in a man's body.

The dynamic beween the charachters was fun, and having the double layers - real life charachter playing the game charachter - created a lot of original moments and comic opportunities. Having the characters die and come back created the opportunity for some cool situations to be played out all the way.

The story was coherent and there was lots of cool action. So if you have two spare hours and want a light fun movie to pass the time I do recommend it.
