Review of Jumanji (1995) by Jordan V — 11 Jul 2011
"Even after 26 years in the deepest darkest jungle, I still end up like my father.".
Jumanji along with a few other 90s favorites, serve as the rush of nostalgia for myself of when I was young and wanting to play Jumanji along with the movie. This films holds up indefinitely to what I remember as a young kid.
The first scene in 1869 looked completely different from the rest of the movie, and on a more cheesier look and feel. The rest of the movie [Especially on Blu-Ray] holds up nicely.
The director of this film has done a lot, to mention his newest film coming out: Captain America, but this movie itself has a lot of key elements drawn out nicely by the director.
The music holds just as scary as it did for me 10 years ago and the special effects show a little age, but still it's impressive to see the stampede through the bookshelf. That damn plant with the vines still scares the hell out of me.
