Review of Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) by Eric R — 12 Jul 2008
Is there an audience for movies like Harmony Korine's "julien donkey-boy"? I hope so. It's a beautiful piece of anti-pop art, brimming with life in all its fragmented glory. The arthouse crowd has become over-infatuated with aboveground indie thoroughfare "Juno," etc.
Give me Godard, Cassavetes, and yteah, even Korine.
