Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Steve — 15 Aug 2009
Definitely a feel-good movie. There's really not any conflict in the plot other than Julie inexplicably detesting her Long Island apartment and her job. So, from that end there's really not much to it other than showing two stories side by side (really, the only thing the two women have in common is that they are married).
Meryl Streep was unreal, and it was great to just watch her as Julia Child, one of the most charming and good-natured people to ever grace our pop-culture. Fun and funny...worth the price of admission.
