Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Jason C — 23 Nov 2010
Streep is excellent and makes the most of an otherwise slightly limp salad of an offering. Amy Adams is frankly borderline annoying throughout and the wafer-thin male characters (surely it's normally vice versa, no?) just highlight that we never really know what drives the people behind the stories.
We're told a few times that the respective female foci were driven to succeed but that's about it. And as for the husband debunking after one blow-up - not in a real marriage, sorry.
